Default Need Song Advice

So, here's the back story:

My friend works in the mall and has a crush on a girl that works in the store across from him. He's painfully shy. He wants to tell her he likes her and wants to get to know her better. He's convinced himself that a mix cd is easier than actually talking to her. And yes I told him, he should just talk to her, and I told him that a mix cd can come off as either romantic or creepy with creepy having the edge, but he's determined.

Now with that said, he's looking for country songs or 80's songs that say I like you, I think you're pretty, but not I want to marry you and make babies (a little strong for a start off). Oh, the girl's name is Amanda, if that helps.

After all my prerequisite joking suggestions I came up with these:

Cruise by Florida Georgia Line
Can't take my eyes of you by Frankie Valli
You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift
Hello by Lionel Richie
From A Distance by Corey Smith
Can We Talk by Tevin Campbell
By Chance by J.R.A.
Are You Gonna Kiss Me by Thompson Square
Hey Pretty Girl by Kip Moore
I Don't Want This Night to End by Luke Bryan
Alone by Heart
Alone with You by Jake Owen
Amanda by Boston
Country Girl (Shake It For Me) by Luke Bryan

Any of these absolute winners? Any should be tossed out for sure? Yes I realize some of them are cliche, but what I can do?

Also, I need suggestions for songs not on the list.

Thanks for your help!

I would argue that Every step you take by the Police is the creepiest.

Every Step You Take is supposed to be creepy, its just people were too thick to notice what its really about.

Hello is just wrong on every level, Just listening to it is enough to give you diabetes, its the sort of song you'd expect to see on a mix CD and the reason mix CDs are a bad idea.

Put fun stuff on it, anything that you friend likes and nothing even vaguely creepy, that way its an ice breaker instead of a fucked up declaration of creepy stalkerness.

Pick songs that are meaningful to you (meaning him). Just picking a bunch of cheesy, stalker-like songs about "wanting to be alone with you" will creep the shit out of anyone. Make it personal, and as Norm said try and make some of it funny too.

The Black Typhoons | Dark Angels 3rd Company | Tharrus Draw's Warband | Dark Angels' Corner | Codices: Marvel Heroes and Marvel Villains

He told me she likes country and 80s which is why I suggested the ones I did. I'm all for scrapping these and starting a new list, but do you guys have any actual song suggestions?

That way he can listen and pick the ones he likes.

Wait, how does he know what she likes if he's that shy?

Anyway, I'm too young to have any idea about 80s music, and I'm off the other end of the musical scale (metal). However, I would strongly recommend avoiding anything vaguely country-ey by Rammstein, they are creepy as fuck. The only song I'm thinking could work (bear the name cheese) is Through Glass by Stone Sour. Neither 80s nor country, but it could work, especially if she likes the cheese of the title (assuming there's glass between their workplaces).

That's a good question. I don't even know how he figured out her name. On that i was assuming a name tag or something.
