Default count as dreadnoughts

right, so!

im working on some pirates using the grey knight codex (my log is in my sig)

thing is, just using henchmen, inquisitors, various tanks is not alot to go on.

so, im thinking of making some dreads, but obviously theres pirates would not have space marine dreads. im looking for a legit way of representing dreads

anyone have any ideas?

so far i have thought of:
converting a landspeeder into a buggy of sorts
using a sentinel, but bulking up it's armour

cheers for any and all help

Ive started to update this project loge again, you should all check it out. it has some stupid things on it, and some fun things on it haha

dreadknight is twice the size of a dreadnought and used the monster base, also i have a dreadknight conversion drying on my desk as we speak(type) so unfortunately its a no-can-do.

the orky dreads is interesting, but i feel they might be a little too impractical, even by imperial standards!!

What about something to this effect, off a sentinal? or just this with a converted guardsmen at the helm. Looks like a fun conversion and would fit for you. Specially with the space monkeys and adeptus mechanicus on your fleet.

Just got an awesome image in my head on a blue-grey coloured Dreadnought with a pirate hat and an eye-patch. Not to mention general piratey stuff about the model.

PP do a few pirate warjacks in their mercenary range. You may have a look at them and see if they are a good basis for what you have in mind:

Note that the last one is only a light warjack, so it might be a bit too weedy for your liking. Those models are ofcourse not useable if you want to play in your local GW store.
