Wellnow. I've come over all blushed and shy.
Thanks for the amazing praise guys. Really grateful.
To answer several of you, she took a long time, a very long time. The guys I normally game with and myself are getting together about twice a week to paint instead of playing at the moment. So about 8 weeks, couple of hours a night once or twice a week.
I have to say though that we do get through a lot of coffee and general chin waggin about life, the universe and all things irritating (Mat Ward never ever came up, honest). That has an adverse effect on my speed. But mostly its just because I wasn't in a hurry.
If I set my mind to it, I could probably batter out a twenty strong unit in two weeks with the barest minmum paint jobs, but thats just not how I work.
In answer to the skin shade - yeah she's hale and healthy looking, but really - why shouldn't she be. All the fluff likes to describe DE as pale of face and dark of hair - so thats the way everybody paints them. If thats your thing, crack on. I liked the shade when I got to that stage of painting. I was going to keep getting lighter, adding a the tiniest bit of fortress grey, but I looked at her and just thought "thats enough right there". I do like the paler elves but she just felt right just as she was.
I'm dead happy with the staff marbling too. I've done it before with paler colours, didn't realise till I'd started how much more careful you have to be going from a darker base colour.
So, once again guys, thanks for the comments. Really great feeling to hear such constructive comments.Sorry about the long post. Gushing I think its called.
Next model up? Tomb Banshee or Cairn Wraith probably. Keep your eyes peeled!
"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."Visit my Tower Terrain Plog here.
"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.
