Default Red Corsairs Rhino

Hey everyone,

My red corsairs army is slowly coming together, I finished up a rhino last night. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

As always these are up on my blog allouttabubblegum.wordpress.com

Looking at it now I can see that some of my pics don't show enough detail, like the lenses on the storm bolter and some of the finer rust details.

Perfect in my eyes. It's how I like tanks... good weathering and looking like they can and have taken a beating already!

Solid icon on the top hatch as well. Was that done freehand? I love how you managed to get the weathering on top of it, it gives it a seamless transition to the reds.

Impressive amount of skulls there.

The weathering is technically excellent, apart from the tracks, which look too bland to me.

Nice rhino mate! Weathering is nice, painting is great, and the addition of the skulls definitely makes it unique. Good job.

Looks excellent! Very well executed, and not over the top - just enough of everything.

I'm glad I can't see any aquillas on those tank treads.

Thank you! There are just over 100 skulls per vehicle... Currently I have 3 rhinos, 1 razorback, and 1 predator all built and primed with this being the first painted. So, in my 1500 point list there are roughly 500 skulls (Skulls for the Skull god?). I thought it fitting for a Khorne themed "Red Corsairs" army.

Thanks! I will definitely look into the tracks... Maybe I should add a little bit of blue to the recesses to bring out the rust a bit more?

Thanks! I agree, only those weak imperial marines cruise around in their non-battle-tested rhinos. How do you know if the damn thing works unless you take it for a spin?

The Icon is probably more freehand than not at this point. Originally they are homemade transfers which a lot of blending/weathering/outlining/etc to get it to not look like a transfer. In the end it probably would have been quicker to freehand it but then you don't get those nice straight lines.

That would work.

Or you could go the other way and put a bright orange wash in the recesses and a metal drybrush to represent wear.

Thanks, very much appreciated!!! I did keep the odd imperial symbol, like the skull on the storm bolter just to illustrate their looted nature. But nothing too obvious or over the top.
