Icon New Colour Scheme

Greetings heretics, long time no see, btw I got a painting with my 'nids.
As you can see in my Gallery most of my nid (all of 'em) have everything that is not carapace or claws painted with washes, now the problem is that if on the flesh gets even a little bit of black(carapace) or another dark color I can' t cover it with washes, I would have to paint it white and rewash it wich is a pain in the ass and by the way washes aren' t pretty good for painting complex models such as tyranids (I am not saying that other models are not complex I just find that 'nids are complicated to paint)

So now after this nonsense explanation I ask you (judging from that what you see in my gallery) would the following scheme: Chaos Black Carapace, skull withe flesh (maybe a little washes) and blood red claws and probably with some drybrushing on the black carapace ore some red gore stripes be a good one for 'nids ?

What do you think ?

here an unfinished test (sry for the poor cam skillz I just did them)

In the end there is only Chaos...
Tyranids: Ragnarök Hivefleet Space Marines: Salamanders Chapter Dark Eldar: Blood Dragon Kabal
Chaos Daemons: Seed Of Destruction

Yeah heavy Devlon Mud wash first of all. darker red for the claws with the red you currently have as a highlight. And a drybrush will look great, especially if you use blood red (since red gore is too dark) just enough to add a reddish tinge to the carapace so it ties everything together.

If you can't beat them, call in an airstrike.

Badab could work but it might cause the light color to look a little off. But try it out on a small area and see if you like it, if you don't like how it looks you can repaint that area and try again with a different wash.
Red gore is fine for the claws especially with blood red highlights, thats what I use on my Guard.

Definitely go with a Devlan Mud wash.
I wouldn't go too heavy with it though if you want it to still appear white rather than brown.
You could even water the wash down 50:50 so that the white still shows through on the raised areas.
