Default Ideas for 40K'ing a Dragon Ogre Shaggoth

I want to put together a warband (Old school style) and will be filling the ranks with minis I like and FOC and such can go whistle!
Anyway, as a decent start and centre piece I want a Shaggoth but kitted out for 40K. My first idea was to attach auto cannons to it's forearms, some GS and guitar strings etc.
The problem being I don't want it to look like a dragon ogre with guns strapped to it's arms. So, any other ideas? What can I do to drag a Dragon Ogre kicking and screaming into the Grimdark of 40K?
Best suggestions get some rep!

I would be more subtle about it

(1) Make the axe a power-axe: Svartmetall converted some melee weapons to power weapons using careful application of wire which looked great (there might even be a tutorial somewhere).

(2) Add a holstered weapon or some tech on a belt.

(3) Add a dead 40K miniature to the base.

I think you're probably right, less is more and all that.
Like I said, the autocannon was, IMO, a little too much. Something subtle will look better cheers!

he needs to have a shoulder mounted weapon of some kind and armour the model, some of the new plastic deamon prince bits might help as they have some 40k cross over.

But what sort of gun?
Anything the size of an autocannon is going to look stupid but on a mini that size bolter sized guns are going to get lost and look too small.
@B&K I like the idea of the armour plates, I'll look into that.

How about giving it some bionics? If you really want him to have a gun, then how about using something like dreadnought arms to make a second, lower set of arms and have those wielding an autocannon like it's a normal rifle.

Alternatively, what about using Tyranid bits? The weapons on the larger 'nid beasties should be roughly the right size for a shaggoth if you fancied a more organic looking beastie.

I would give it a gun like the metal Daemon prince so kind of melded into the armour over its hand. Also maybe a nice chainaxe of somekind.
