get youre wife on lexicanium and put her on the chapter list. let her read through the fluff and chose a army. trust me my girl friend started a loyalist army out of black reach sets, and she just got bored with her own color scheme she picked out. the game is cool , but having fluff to look forward too is what makes a long lasting player

Out of those two I have to say the second is my favourite.

I actually like the first one or the Pre Heresy World Eaters scheme. And a name for the chapter? Hmm...Snow Leopards, Ice Dragons, Timber Wolves....just a few suggestions

TBH, niether of us are into the fluff that much (i used to be a long time ago) i just enjoy playing the game as it as well as painting.
As for a codex, shes gona go with the C:SM as she likes the idea of drop pods and dreads, with some ground surport.

I like the second one better, but like bitsandkits said, there maybe an issue with getting a nice paint job. That scheme is not exactly the easiest to do correctly, especially the white.

Since your wife is a new painter, I would suggest whichever color comes straight outta the pot so she wont have to worry about mixing paints.

thats the plan, base colours will be ultramarine blue and ice blue, she still may drop the white, but she decide that when she starts her frist model, shes also gona use skull white as a undercoat

Also like the second scheme. If you could spare a marine or 2 why not do a test run and see how it comes out?

As for names i'd go with something based around Azure, as the scheme gives the appearance of a nice light blue.

I like the second one as well and it should not be all that hard to pull off. As for a name, since Ice Blue will be the main color you can always go Ice "something". If you want it a bit easier then get an army that has premade shouder pads as well.

the second one and just use any colours that that are available at GW that look similar to those. like Ice Blue or Space Wolves Grey and Hormagaunt Purple.

the name could be Funky Cold Medina!
or for a serious one
- Wolves of Fenris
- Wolf Guard
- Frozen Lords
- Lords of Ice
