Default New Twin LC Khorne Lord

Finally finish my new khorne lord. Wanted something to go with my harsh theme. I have a decked out forgeworld khorne army and they needed a upgraded leader. as you know there is no twin lc khorne lord out there, so it was to the drawing board. heres what i came up with:

head: forge world khorne upgrade bit
claws: chaos lord sprue
right shoulder pad: forge world khorne upgrade bit
left shoulder pad: chaos marine upgrade sprue
backpack: chaos marine sprue
cape: chaos lord sprue
torso: possessed marine sprue
legs: possessed marine sprue
base: random skull bits from fantasy chaos sprues

overall it was pretty easy. just a mix match of different parts that turned out really badarse. i suck at modeling with GS, as such i work with it and can usually put things together pretty well or just carve some stuff away with other bits covering it up. The hardest part was the cape. its a termie cape, and i wasnt about to try and scuplt one. so what i did was attach the backpack, then just started carving away shavings until it fit in the space between the backpack and the back torso peace. the arms i think covered it up pretty well. end result turning out pretty well i think. what do you think? Also, i plan to put the rest of the army up once i make some finishing touches.

The parts all put together, unpainted

Kind of fuzzy, but heres the torso, up close, unpainted

And the back, unpainted

The arms. I simply cut the claws off at the elbow, and glued them to normal chaos marine arm elbow pieces.

The base. The rubble used is a mix of the new Army Painter black rubble, and some basic sand to fill the gaps.

And without further adue, my new khrone badarse
*note, he's still alittle glossy, pay no mind, i still have to dull coat him.

He looks good though the claws seem a bit clean, maybe a redwash to tint them a bit. and the skulls seem a bit dark, maybe a couple layers of highlighting to make them pop a bit more.

But that is one badass model for sure!

I like very much. He is a fantastic looking model. I agree with the skulls, more bone and less grey would help. Otherwise , fantastic parts selection. The result is magnificent.

His mates look suitably epic too.

According to LUKEVALENTINE's test i am a diciple of khorne. Figures really.

Low and behold. Looking at the comments (thanks everyone so far by the way) my new lord went to battle last night and christened his new claws and at the sight of so much blood and carnage they waged, the skulls atop his backpack glowed whiter with exuberance. oh yeah, and i put a matt finish on him.

like it, this is great. I love lightening claws in general, you can never have enough!

Nothing says Khorne like a base full of skulls

Much much better with the not so shiney claws. You certainly desreve some rep for this great paintjob.

Your toast has been burnt and no amount of scraping will get rid of the black bits.

Those are some giant lightning claws, they remind me of a bears paws. When I saw the size of them I had to pause. He looks sweet in his armor of red and bronze.

The newest pic is much better, the whiter skulls and the bit of red on the claws make a really cool model pop in a big way. Nice conversion work as well, definitely a model that will stand out on the table.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

I am going to agree that the addition of the red on the claws, the brightening of the skulls, and the addition of matte finish really rounded out the model nicely. Excellent conversion and pose! He looks pretty bad ass!
