Default WIP Sang Priest

I am starting to model a unit of Sanguinary Priests, and wanted to get your take on how it looks.

The Blood Chalice, as you can probably figure out, is a Meltabomb with the handle cut off and drilled out a little. The bottom is the top of an old Sergeant's backpack banner pole. I plan on using this as my standard Chalice for all Sanguinary Priests/Novitiates since it is easy to make.

Yes, I know there are mold lines and such I need to clean up.

I would cut away the little flange thingies (the vertical sticky-outy bits) from the meltabomb, thus making it a little harder to identify as a meltabomb. other than that, good work.

But if we give them laser eyes and mounted guns, we'll have to bring in Clan Skryre, and everyone knows how much those limp-tailed snuff addicts overcharge.

A coat of gold, a little filler in the hole with some red, maybe some GS blood slosh and you can hardly tell it's a Meltabomb unless you knew what it was beforehand..but thanks for the feedback!

I like it - I like the tilt you have put on the head, and I like the position of the sword arm, too.

The use of a meltabomb is creative.

All of this has happened before.

That is an awesome idea for the chalices! Mind if I steal it?

By all means! I know people have been having problems coming up with Chalices for their Sanguinary Priests, so I figured I'd give it a try. I'm pretty happy with the results. Feel free to post yours here for people to see too!

And the backpack..the little scanner thing that you see on Priest/Apoth packs..I used the little scanner bit off the top of a Terminator torso I cut off to put a Cyclone on.

Only issue I have is the bottom of the chalice. The chalice wouldn't be able to stand on its own with that bottom. I would use something else. Maybe a skull chopped in half or something like that.

Ya, I know. I thought about that. I don't have any spare skulls to use(I know..a 40k player with no spare skulls..wtf?!)..or anything else that would really work.
