Default Battle worn Darius with lightning arcs

Ok, so here's something I did fairly recently. I don't know if there are any techniques in particular for me to talk about here, he's got a lot of different things going on.

Overall, I was going for a very worn feel, and I think I pulled that off.

I put up a blog entry on how I did the lightning arcs for him.

Anyway, here he is:

Commentary is always welcome.

Looks, like everything else you do, to be certainly brilliant. May I ask, what game is this from? Reminds me of something, I cannot put my foot down upon what however. If I can rep, you will definatly be having some

Nyctophobia- Fear of the Dark Angel.

"No one ever spoke about of those two absent brothers. Their separate tragedies had seemed like aberrations. Had they, in fact, been warnings that no one had heeded?"

'Killing a man is like fucking, boy, only instead of giving life you take it. You experience the ecstasy of penetration as your warhead enters the enemy's belly and the shaft follows. You see the whites of his eyes roll inside the sockets of his helmet. You feel his knees give way beneath him and the weight of his faltering flesh draw down the point of your spear. Are you picturing this?'
'Yes, lord.'
'Is your dick hard yet?'
'No, lord.'
''What? You've got your spear in a man's guts and your dog isn't stiff? What are you, a woman?'

Darius is part of the Cygnar Faction of Warmachine, a Fast paced Steam-punk-esque miniatures game produced by privateer Press.

I think over all the model looks very well done. My one critique, if I am honest, is that the lighting effect is rather poor in comparison to the rest of the model. There is a definite 'knack' for getting lightning to look correct. The rest of the mini, however, looks very good. Especially the weathering,

Not my favorite Cygnar model (though I love the concept), but great job painting him up nonetheless.

I have to agree with Fist here. While the rest of the model is extremely well done, the lightning just doesn't fit. One thing that needs to happen for sure with them is that they should also be on the face of the hammer, not just the sides of it.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

Brilliant model, very smooth, love the white. Though, I agree with the lightning. Though I'm not sure if the whole face should be glowing and the lightning then ripples down the sides as you have it, or if it should be spreading from the pin in the middle. It might also pop the model if you added some kind of build-up (grease, corrosion, use, whatever) around the joints/bearing things.

Good comments. I'll definitely think about improvement on the next thunder hammer that I do.

I guess it has already been stated that he is from Warmachine (by Privateer Press, his faction is Cygnar, and he is a Warcaster named Darius).
