Default Armoured orks

Would these fly as Nobz with 'eavy armour in a game? They're a bit to big for boz, but I still want to use them. They're not going to be painted like that, so hold off on the painting critiques. I just want to know if they'd be legal in a GW store, and if there's a way to make them look more like they're from 40k.

Thanks for any help,

Varrius

i don't know much about the rules and whatnot, but the last model with the bare head and power klaw could go as an Ork from the 41st millenium, he has the klaw and and the pistol, and maybe say his armor is "ornate looted armor" if such a thing exists hehe

Yeah. Those orks really care about aesthetics. I have a few other with normal nob heads, and they do look more like 40k. Is it the head or weapons? Here's one with a helmet, but a chain axe and slugga. Is that passable? I'm trying to isolate whatever it is that makes them look like 40k orks. (Oh, excuse the pic quality.)

There isnt really much difference between the WHFB Orcs and the 40k Orks... The fantasy heads ar a little smaller, and the arms are slightly less muscly (sp), but apart from that. Obviously the weapons are, for want of a better word, advanced but the blades from the Fantasy look just as good. I myself have an old Orc Shaman that has been converted, with just the backpack with the guns from the nob set, into an Ork Weirdboy.

My advice would be to either - swap one of the arms to a gun, or, if theyr using a great weapon, cut off a slugger and model it by his belt. Personally, i think the Orc armour looks great for 40k

Well, it looks like it meets the following criteria:

GW Model, check.
An Orc, check.
Has a gun, check.

If you want to use it as a nob, it should probably be slightly bigger then the models you use for your boyz, but other the that, it looks good to me.

And, there are always feral orks.

I love your strict code.

I did feral orks, I have to switch some over for my LGS. The whole 'Chapter approved is useless' now. Anyway, they are bigger (about a head taller, maybe more) than boyz, that's why I thought they wouldn't work as 'ardboyz. Seeing as I have Savage orks out the wazoo, it's not a bad thing to change it up and do some standard greenskins. I'm still not a fan of the black ork helmets (like the first one has) but I'll live. Thanks, people.

It's not like they're not ork models, they're just from Fantasy. It meets all of the stringent criteria as layed down by LordMolnar. What's not to like? I'll give it a run this afternoon, but I think it won't be a problem.

I don't see why they would not work they meet all the criteria for Ard boyz. Several people use black orcs as hard boyz.

If you needed fluff to back it up, you could just say they are feral snakebit Ardboyz.
