Default Need help with eldar paint

I'm trying to do a nice eldar Alaitoc paint scheme and I need help with the cool molting effect with the light blues that I am seeing everywhere. Would it be best to dab a sponge and get the splotches that way or is there something I am missing?

There was an article about this in WD a while back. What they did was to use a stippling effect on the models they started with a black primer and they stippled on layers of a dark blue and gradually used lighter blues until they achieved a desired color. Just in case you don't know what stippling is in the article they used an old paint brush separated the bristles into three parts and used hot wax to get them to stay in position then kinda brushed the wax off on the ends so you end up with a brush that has three tips. Then you put your paint on the brush and dab it on the armor. Try this on scrap first to see if you like the result. Good Luck.
