Default Carnifex in progress

Well I havn't been on for a bit so i wanted to show you guys what ive been working on.
One of my friends asked me to paint this carnifex for him and its roughly half way done. The carapace is halfway through its second coat and im unsure of how to go with it. The only carapace on the model that looks decent (to me) is the one on the pincer. Ill be getting some finished shots in a couple days.
Comments and suggestions welcome.

maybe shade the rest of the carapace with graveyard earth or something. to give it more depth, so that it doesnt seem as flat

I wish I could see bigger pictures, it would help get an idea of what the parts you like/dont like.

Your toast has been burnt and no amount of scraping will get rid of the black bits.
