I'm going to bump this over to M&P where you should get a lot more help than in the fluff section

Proportionally, it's the right size. It'll just require a new howdah to be at the 25mm scale, as well as fur, which'd probably mean covering it in green stuff. Still cheaper than the Forge World model, but that much green stuff is going to make it around $100 when all's said and done.

Actually, why not add real fur?

How to do it really quickly:

Go to your local fabric store. Get some fake fur fabric with backing. Cut out shapes appropriate to cover your mammoth, but cut these as if you were planning on putting the fur on inside out. Coat the top of these shapes with glue (yes the top, not the backing. Coat the actual fur with glue but just the ends of the threads). Then stick these on the mammoth and let the glue dry.

Now you are going to take a very sharp razor blade and begin carefully cutting the backing off the glued on sections. When you are done you will be left with glued on fur that is at different enough lengths to give it that natural shaggy look. Brush or color it as you wish and enjoy.

< Old modeling trick passed down to me from a Master of miniatures.

An easier way would be to chaosify a stegadon from the lizardmen range. It would still take some conversion work, Failing that try and find a kids toy or an alternative model range (I had 1 about ten years ago made from metal with 2 norsemen on it that I wish I'd kept)

Not sure about real fur. You could always get hold of some long static grass (I've seen some upto 6mm long) and use this to do the fur. Thats would quite awesome.

Your toast has been burnt and no amount of scraping will get rid of the black bits.

haha wow guys! thanks for the suggestions
the fur is interesting idea...
That would be the most extensive conversion on this i would think other than adding a daemonic mark or two haha
