Default bought space marine tactical squad, and have a few questions

after clipping out all the pieces needed for one marine and removing mold lines, i realized that the manual that explains what pieces to use shows an arm that has a hand holding the trigger and handle, and a gun without a handle/trigger

yet, i have none of those boltguns without a handle

do i actually have to clip off the handle? how would i go along doing that as neat as possible

yeah, the grip has to be removed. It's nice that they leave the grip on there for modelling purposes. I kind of wish they did that with all the standard infantry weapons for all armies. You'll need a hobby knife to trim it away. It's like cleaning a mold line, really. Make sure the grip is completely removed so the bolter sits flat on the hand. I'd paint the bolter and backpack seperately from the rest of the model-- you can glue it all together after it's all painted. That way you get all the details on the torso and everything.

The plastic Space Marines are quite possibly my favorite models GW makes, just because they're all modular with one another. You can use bits from an assault squad and have them fit with Tactical Space Marines, for example.
