Default Not a Dreadnought

This was bought at the same time as the Prime Battlewalkers in my other thread. There was more, but those aren't ready yet.

Unlike the others, this will not require much of any work at all to pass for a space marine dreadnought. This is the standard battlewalker, notable smaller than the prime variant and a little larger than the plastic dreadnought kit from gw.

As you might be able to tell, the weapons are magnetized. Many of Puppetswar's kits come with predrilled holes to allow for parts to magnetized in this way, however this is completely optional and is not an essential part of the kits. I made use of them in this instance to allow me options when fielding this dreadnought as opposed to the fixed weapons of my older one.

Not a big fan of that particular model, but that does look really well, will it be painted up like the dread beside it or different?

Neat looking bot. But would probably fit better with a mechanicum force as some kind of archaeotech bot they have unearthed.

It will be part of the same force, so the paintjob will be as similar as I can manage. I think I'm going to modify it a bit first with some space wolf parts to bring it close to my red desert coyote theme.

Game wise it'll probably sit as a venerable dreadnought. Lore wise it'll be something they came across that the iron priests decided to use to inter one of their fallen who was almost lost on the same expedition. Kind of like "it's new but this is an emergency situation" kind of deal.

I am a big fan of using non standard or non gw models. I think this has a lot of potential, some recognisable gw tweaks here and there and it could be made to blend in nicely. For me, a head change would be the main thing, with a semi marine or dread style head you would be most of the way there. Like it.

Interesting model; I'm a bit of a GW/FW purist but can see your reasoning behind this

Looking forward to seeing it painted up!!

Gorthol, I am the complete opposite, If I like a model I will make it work, But that is a lot easier with chaos.

Fair enough @shaantitus each to their own

I've seen some fantastic looking models based around non GW models; I've never done it myself... wouldn't know where to start!

I'm a BA collector myself so I'm not sure what I could use in connection with them but I'm always open to suggestions and change!

Puppetswar is as good a place as any to start. Check these out.
