Default Help with white Eldar needed.

Simple question. How do you get white armor without ruining them while adding a wash for detail. My method atm is black prime then white prime, however it doesn't always come out right.

Personally I wouldn't prime them black if you are going to be painting them white. I prime/basecoat white, then do a black wash and then layer up white thinly. I know @The Son of Horus goes up from bone though.

I haven't tried it with Eldar yet, but for my White Scars I spray them black, then drybrush multiple layers of Ceramite White on top instead of washing.

90% of people think they are above average.

Statistically Improbable. Psychologically Inevitable.

-I start from a black undercoat.

-Then I apply a basecoat of a bone color-- I either just use The Army Painter's Skeleton Bone primer these days in place of the black undercoat, or, I'll just airbrush on Reaper Master Series' Aged Bone. GW's equivalent is Ushabti Bone.

-I then apply a wash of Agrax Earthshade.

-Next, I do a layer of RMS Aged Bone (Ushabti Bone) leaving the recesses defined.

-Then, I apply my white, covering all but the deepest recesses.
