Default Executioners and Minotaurs models

I was reading through my FW Badab war book and decided to do a bit of painting and thought I'd upload them to see what you thought. They are both

Executioner

1. Dry brushed Leadbelcher over black undercoat
2. Dry brushed old chainmail over that
3. Washed with nuln oil
4. Watered down old citadel blue ink, did like three washes of it heavily watered down. Although the Asurman blue shading would probably do a better job but I don't have it. Due to the washes though and the lighting of the picture the metallic element may not come across and may appear to be quite blue when really it's blue steel. Reducing the amount of washes will of course allow the metallic undercoats to shine through, it really comes down to what you prefer.

Minotaur

1. Grey base coat
2. Coat of rhinox hide
3. Coat of mournfang brown
4. Thin layers of Hashut copper
5. I used a watered down chestnut ink wash for the shading but brown wash from the current range would probably be better.

The eyes do not really pop on either model: I suggest undercoating the eyes in white to make them glow more.

Went over it with white and tried to do the layer up from red to orange, dunno if this is any better though.

The eyes look better now, I also like the medallion you added to the Executioners chest.

I like the minatour. That gold effect is very smooth from the smaller picture. I dont like the skull on the chest plate though. It may be the photo but it seems to loose some of its detail.

The eyes pop a bit more on your second attempt and look pretty good.

Your toast has been burnt and no amount of scraping will get rid of the black bits.

Thanks

I had to make something to cover the chest of the Executioner as the model is an old Black Templar plastic model, and I had to remove the templar cross from the chest, as well as the helm.

The skull on the minotaur is meant to be bone in colour, it to came with the model though, I didn't add that.
