Default Garfy paints a Chaos Helbrute

When painting my Helbrute I wanted a more crimson colour to the armour. I didn't want bright warm reds like the Eavy metal one. The Eavy metal Helbrute looks like a Khorne worshipper rather then a new Renegade Space Marine chapter called the Crimson Slaughter. I didn't want the organic parts to be the same colour as the armour because that doesn't make sense to me, so the organic parts got a liberal dose of pink. Real men aren't afraid to paint pink.

I've just posted a comprehensive Helbrute tutorial on Tale of Painters.

I'm probably going to make myself unpopular right now but I'm not crazy about the pink, I'm not sure why, it just doesn't seem to fit. I'm loving the red and brass/bronze though, might have to steal your recipe for those...

oooh that's really nice

I was thinking of painting my DV chaos as slaanesh, and that pink flesh/blue tentacle combo is very striking.

Excellent work as always sir.

Once again I am in awe, I will certainly be goign back to the paint guide when I get to painting mine.

Me: To be honest im amazed there isn't a chaos god of not revising or at least chaos god of procrastination

MidnightSun: There will be, when enough people do it. Y'know when the Eldar were all engaging in their hedonism and Slaanesh ripped open the Eye of Terror with his creation? Slaanesh will have NOTHING on the God of Procrastination, and his vile minions will carve the galaxy asunder in a thousand year reign of blood.... Tomorrow

Excellent work as always, but I think the pink DOES tend to stray into Slaaneshi territory... Perhaps have the organic "bits" be the same tone as the pilot, so that it looks like his flesh has slowly mutated/bonded with the chassis...
