Default Painting mechanicum reds?

Ok peeps, need some advice on painting a techmarine, what is the proprietry red the gw folks use for mechanicum red (have got articles in white dwarves probley, but cba going through them all...) i'm still using the old paints (am cheap lol) and am wondering what you guy reckon, red gore as a base or scab red mixed with orange/yellow to bring the shade up?

Would like a really vivid red this time (check out my first techmarine model in my album, red gore mixed with elf flesh for highlight, neat but kinda drab...)

for bright reds id go with 50;50 mechrite red/blood red basecoat, then just keep adding blood red till its pure blood red, then add some blazing orange for the extreme highlights

Yeah, a micture of all of the above. Use Mecharite Red as a base, layer it with Blood Red, then Badab Black wash then highlights with Blood Red again. Gives a nice gothic dark red, ideal for Mechanicum adepts

ok, thanks guys, will have a fiddle around with some of the ideas posted up here, would anyone reckon blood red over a white undercoat, washed with 50/50 baal red badab black?
What I'm struggling with is a 1st highlight that doesn't make the red look orange or (even worse!) pink
