Default Ogres as Demigryphs?

I was thinking of using ogres in place of demigryph riders, I also had the idea of putting a halfling on their shoulder, but that would cost more and I already got the ogres, so I was wondering two things, in Games Workshop would this be allowed if put on the right base and more related to this part of the forum, does anyone have any suggestions to make them more unique?

Ogres? Tbh I don't think it fits, ogres are brilliant as unit fillers for militia but for demigryphs I would think not.

I was tempted by doing giant wolves for knights of the white wolf, if you want to do similiar by all means steal it, I will probably never do it (too many ideas, too little time \ lack of skill)

For units without ranged weapons/LOS spells/&c. the only real benefit of using a different model is ease of avoiding your opponent's LOS. As Ogres seem to be slightly larger than Demigryph Knights I do not think they will be as easy to hide, so I would not expect any objection in any of the GW stores I have played.

I've got two ideas.

1 - Use the ogres I already have, painted them in Stirland colours and double them up on the bases from the mournfang cavalry I have yet to put together.

2 - Eventually get some actual demigryphs and put the plastic scythes from the wizard box on, problem is I got no money.

I can do the first one with very little extra costs apart from getting an additional base or I could make my own from some plasti card. The second one may fit in with my knights of the black rose, but it's a lot more expensive.

Ogres fail as Demigryph because they don't look remotely like being T3 and no ogre has anything remotely like a 1+ save (3+ is best possible for an actual ogre, other then using silvered steel).

If you were to put a rider on top then you could answer the T3 and AS from a 'rules' perspective (its the rider that has T3 and AS) but from an aesthetic perspective it would still look like an ogre (they have gnoblar on their shoulders all the time but never look like monstrous cav).

I think the idea is interesting, but don't think it'll work in practice.
