Default Jump pack flames. Possible with greenstuff?

Hi folks,

This sounds like a really stupid question but does anyone know of any sites you can buy ready made flames for jump-packs or if there are any modellers prepared to make these as a commission?

I have tried several times to create these myself and I still have plenty of kneadatite left so... maybe... But I lack the patience and have really warm hands which seems to make the greenstuff stick to my hands really easily (I can't make pastry for the same reason ).

But just incase, I'm looking for an afterburner effect like out of a jet engine. Ideally 2 flames for 3 standard assault troops and 3 (two small flames and one large flame) for 3 sanguinary guard jump-packs.

Any insight into acquiring or making these would be most appreciated.

Regards, Giles.

Armorcast has the sort of thing you are looking for in their Cinematic Effects.

I don't see why not. But be for warned, flames are some of the hardest things to paint let alone sculpt. But armour cast is a good place to get inspiration. Check out Dakka dakka. Can even see some very nice flames from bio-rockets on Warpshadow. They are on a tyrant there, search jetpack tyrant.

Do not fear the Hive Mind for it is good and we are all together. . .Or you will be! *Chomp*

IronAngel: cheers, they look good! They're the right shape although I'm not keen on the amount of smoke. I'll buy a couple and have a look.

Phenious: I'm thinking a wet blending technique will work(?). I have an account with dakka and haven't found them to be as helpful as people on Heresy.

Armourcast effects are awesome, I have used them before. Wet blending would work well, just remember to take your time with it and it should look awesome

There are also these from Zinge Industries - transparent acrylic flames. They seem to have quite a decent range of bits, actually...

Svartmetall, they look cool but its a shame they display the same image for their whole range of flames. Any idea of a thread showing these?
