Default Painting black templars

Ok so I am making custom BT I am using the robes from dark angels with the BT shoulder pads.(not very custom I know but my back story explains it.) Now I am trying to paint the black in a way that it looks faded and I cant think of any good ways of doing this.

If you guys could help me out I would appricate it.

Simply prime it black and give it a very, very light drybrush of grey.

Ithought of doing wolf grey with your suggestion but i am also looking to make it battle worn looking because this faction if black templar is going to be from a dessert planet.

Try using some weathering pigment. They come in a massive variety of colours (the MIG ones do anyway)
