Default Dreadnought - Necron Conversion Possibility

Hiya,

I saw this model recently and was awed. It is certainly stunning and I felt there was great potential for conversion.

Now, my question is; do you think it could become a Necron model? Using the close combat arms, perhaps replacing the fingers with gauss rifles or the like, taking out the Space-Mariney head and replacing it with two dull mechanical eyes, removing the aquila, getting some Necron symbols in there somewhere.

My question is; is it possible? And what unit could it represent?

Thanks for your time.

Darvy

I suppose it could be done but the model is quickly growing in popularity and is very easily identifiable as being a Space Marine model. It would take a lot of work to make it look Necron and would probably not be worth the expense and the work in the end, IMO.

If you're determined then go for it but I would advise against it.

Well the thing is, there may be a plethora of new Necron walker-type models coming out so I could use bitz from them and the basic Dreadnought chassis to make it look suitably Necrony. But I see your point, good sir. If the new models are excellent, I may just save the cash and not convert.

Yes, but their walker will look like Necron walkers, and not Space Marine ones . That's like converting a Reaver Titan to look like Tau - it simply won't work.
I understand your desire to buy that model though, in fact I'm be getting one for graduation instead of a grad ring!

But how will you wear it?

You can do like a "Borg" type thing, where the dread is getting transformed into Necron. Keep the body original but add Necron bits to it.

I think its an awesome idea, necron warriors are small robots this can easily be converted into a big ass robot. Just need to add some gauss weapons in there somewhere
