Wife ordered some Arcanists today, I plan to order Guild. Then we will learn the 2nd Ed rules in the next few weeks.

Have to say the fluff is really cool, and the models range from hilarious to completely bad ass. So am looking forward to it and have high expectations!

Well, I got hold of the 2E beta rules...Me and the wife are brand new to the game (I am branching out from 40k, want something different to sci-fi and fantasy backgrounds), so flicking through the beta rulebook the next few days and will probably have a few test runs to see if we like it before committing to more models...Though that said I love the minatures regardless so may buy anyway.

Would you recommend Guild as an easy faction to learn the rules? I really like the Ortega models and may order the box set. Heard they are quite easy to learn (was told they are "like Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter" lol). Also really like the Neverborn minatures and the fluff (Teddy!), but heard very different things about their playstyle (glass knives?).

I cant really comment on 2.0 having only played a couple of games, what I know is they have simplified it but not dummed it down.
Each faction will have a master that is a bit plug n play and a master that may have a steeper learning curve.
Guild are very shooty, if thats what you like go for it, lady j and perdita are fairly friendly to new players,
Neverborn are glass cannons that love melee

mana worm? do you mean vomit worm aka primordial magic, still pretty good in 2.0, lost arcane reservoir but gained rush of magic and counts as a scheme marker which is pretty good.
Paddy has changed quite a bit, liking to get up and close n personnel!

I have just bought Perdita Ortega's Crew...Apparently one of the easiest masters to learn for beginners. I will go Neverborn when I have a few games under my belt and assuming I like the game.

I love the models for Neverborn and Guild (Death Marshall's look sweet too) so may just get the models for painting anyway.
