50 Conscripts (with Lord)

Tactics: blob up and run at them.

This list isnt going to win me anything major but I'm working with what I got.

hate using tanks for IG and I realise I have too little AT but I guess Ill have to rely on meltas.

any advice you can give without adding tanks would be great

Looks solid, but I'm not footlsogger expert.

Why not take 2 body guards instead of medipack? Adds more bodies and still improves Straken's durability.

Also if the blobs are indeed going to be moving up every turn the perhaps a swapping the Autocannons for Power Swords on sergeants wouldn't be a bad idea. Meltabombs might also be an option for increased AT. Dropping Commie Lord's camo cloak might help facilitate that.

You're crazy for not liking tanks hah, props though for braving the storm without them. Good luck with the list and hope this helps.

I can vouch for the Camo Cloaks on the LC, but I'be found that 30 Men Blobs are superior to 20 Men, especially if making power Blobs...not enough wounds in 20 to tie the enemy up for long enough. Also, Commissars in Infantry Units can't take a PF only a PW, and to be halfway decent the Sgts also need PW's...1 will do zip.

For 1 pt extra the Conscripts could be Infantry Guardsmen instead...far more reliable, capable, versatile, plus can be combined and Orders can be applied to them. Still, that's me That said, if you want Conscripts I'd consider Chenkov because he at least allows 'send in the next wave', which gives the Conscripts a use other than just a large Squad.

Well I have no doubt that 30 man blobs are better than 20 but I dont exactly have the points unless I lose some more men:/

ah I didnt realise commissars couldnt take fists.....PW it is then.

As for the autocannons they are there if the enemy has light tanks and are coming towards me anyway....just get them outta the way.


extra PW is a good idea looking at it now I think I'll scrape some in.
Now....the conscripts are my fav unit in the entire and I will take any chance to take them

Chenkov could benefit me I suppose
I'll stick up a new list with some of your suggestions

Fair enough on the Conscripts
I just see the LC been more suited to the Infantry and Chenkov to the Conscripts. An LC with Camo Cloaks and in a 30 Men Blob can tie up the truly c/c capable units out there for longer. Mind you, one of the major benefits of this is that any Artillery is free to fire for longer because said enemy c/c unit is tied up...but you don't have any - Artillery is cool man, and fluffy even in Infantry heavy lists.

That PW in the 2 PCS's...I can't see it achieving much as they can't combine with the Blob so swing on their lonesome...stick them on 2 Sgts in the Blob instead.

Changed the list about a bit adding more PW and adding anothe squad with the points saved from losing some stuff.

Straken vs creed

Straken packs a punch in combat and give everyone within 12 FC and CA

Creed is good for gunline armies I would say but this is a mass charge kinda thing so think he'd be best suited somewhere else.

let me know if the changes made are better or worse

Provides the Stealth USR...basically a +1 to Cover Saves - good on large Combined Infantry Units.
