Default 1250 with militorum allies

This is mainly for criticism on the militorum side , so here goes
This is the first list with the new 'dex, so yeah...
It's a 1250 designed along side my BA, I'll out them in after this list, for referance
The purpose of the list is to whizz over my BAs heads, drop out and give 'em hell! Before either dying gloriously in the name of the emporer or maybe surging to capture objectives and a shameful return home- like wimpy death company

Lord commissar- plasma pistol
adds fire to his squad, shouts the precision fire one at them
80

Veterans- plasma pistol, x3 plasma guns, x6 shotguns, demolitions
hops out, volleys plasma and explosives into the enemy
150

Valkyrie- lascannon, rocket pods, heavy bolters
flies around, nuking the enemie, maybe pot shotting a tank (their rare around these parts)
155

Primaris pysker
castes prescience on his squad, not sure if he's needed though, too many eggs in one basket?
50
435
That's it, seems sound to me

And their overlords, umm I mean allies...

Librarian- jump pack (would've liked mastery lvl2 but not the points
125

x2 10man assault squads- x2 melta guns, power fists
450

Sanguinary preist- jumppack, power sword (shame they FAQed this guy for only BAs eh?)
90

1225 all included

That leaves me 25pts spare, any ideas?

First off, this isn't an Imperial Guard list, it's a Blood Angel list. They have the requisite 2x troops, 1x HQ, so it's in the wrong place. The AM contingent is a glass hammer, just hope no one has interceptor when they deploy.

I know it's a blood angels list, but I posted it here as I wanted comments on the allies, the blood angels are tried and tested in on the alter of war so I put it here
And in my local meta, the biggest a tank comes is a rhino someone brings I think, it's empty, he just uses it to give away a free kill point... I can't think of any other reason at least, interceptor is even thinner on it's feet, and those did have it, never used it as they got caught up it can't fire next turn, without realising that it effectively has it's shooting sooner, before the enemy can do any damage

That list does not work at all in my opinion.

First what exactly is the point of the shotguns? Are you going to charge at the enemy with your veterans? If so, why do you give them that many plasma guns and no melee weapons? If you're not going to charge, a lasgun is always superior to a shotgun.

Another basic rule with the Guard is: keep it cheap. You are taking two characters to boost one squad of ten men, whose survivability is practically zero.

The Emperor protects.

Yeah. That list.

Also, I didn't think lord Commisars had access to orders? Don't have the guard codex to check.

If you really want your guard to do what SM can do better than I'd go:

Lord Commisar OR naked CCS

Infantry platoon
PCS
Infantry squad x2

SWS who can have demo charges (up to 3)

Vendetta

That's a base cost of 390-395. This gives you 65-70 points to upgrade the squads as you see fit. Don't bother with plasma pistols. Stick the SWS into the vendetta, suicide strike it where you need with whatever you arm it with. Hold an objective or the back line with the 25-30 bodies with orders.

@Bringbackmacharius has a better, more sensible list than I'm about so suggest. But, I say go all in on the concept!

Company Command: 4 plasma - 105
Veterans: 3 plasma - 105
2 Valkyries: rocket pods - 270
= 480

You'll have to trim some blood angel options (I'd drop a powerfist for melta bombs) but look at that plasma salvo! The Company Command can give orders to both squads when they drop down. 7 ignores cover or precision shot plasma guns, mmmmm. Tank/monster hunter for shredding those transports you see as well as MCs.

Plasma guns are the only ones I trust to be in range after a grav chute insertion. If you plan on entering hover mode however you could give the Veterans demolitions and 3 flamers for the same points.

@NathanJD I actually prefer your suggestion. Gives me nostalgia about my 3rd-4th ed guard list with deep striking plasma/demo charge vet squads thanks to Doctrines!

I chose to work within the confines of his points and I don't know enough about BA to suggest where he could trim fat from the marines (however historically PF is rarely a good choice for single wound and very kill able models).

I was thinking he'd be better off maybe with Astra Tempestus.

Commisar with Plasma Pistol and carapace: 45 (lord is a lot to spend on this type unit)

Tempestus Scions x10 w 2xPlasma Guns, tempestor w/Plasma Pistol - lose 1 plasma round, gain 7 Hot-shot Lasguns at AP:3 - 180

Valkyrie, Lascannon, Heavy Bolter sponsons: 150.

Total: 395

Replace Commisar with Tempestus Command squad w/2 plasma guns:115

Total: 445.

And they all have deep strike built in, which seems a benefit for this type of unit.

Could split the scions into 2x 5 with plasma and a HQ with 4 meltas (325) and a valk with MRP (145) and then you'd just need to find 10 points and you could twin link the meltas wth the command squads order from tempestus codex.

And/or Sniper the Hotshot lasguns. I prefer the two command squads so one can command itself, but they seem a more appropriate solution to what he wanted.
