Ok submitted the final list today. It is as follows. The mortars were filler at the end of the day. I wanted to take another ten man squad, but I ran out of spots in the platoon and I dont think that anything else would have helped out as much as 3 guess weapons. That said, I could have build another sentinel but at this point I dont care. I will let you all know how this all turns out for me.

I been in the store and remember getting 5 boxes of men (when they came in 20 man boxes) 3 Commissars and praying that I might survive til turn 4. I've stuck it out, and you know what I have to say? Good list overall...but what happened to the excellent 4 Flamer PCS, as this current one is not good - different ranges, AP values.

I'm with HOBO on this one. The earlier PCS build was WAY better. With those flamers back in there you might have room for Melta Bombs on the blobs or more PWs.

reading through this, if you want a pill box CCS heres the load out, CCS with HWT lascannon, plasmaguns x2 chimera with ML/HB hull HB. place it right beside your blobs for orders/LD and have fun. HWT can fire out of it with the plasma's, your in range of the blobs for orders as well as your LD rolls if need be, and its a hard to crack pill box.

take my ideal for a pill box CCS, itll live longer and yes you can still fire the lascannon from it, use plasma guns instead of GL

no real issues, although i normally have 2 melta suicide vets and 1 plasma.

This is bad, either go 4 flamers, or 4 of the same SW. as Hardluck and hobo have said, its ineficient to have diffrent ranged weapons, and 1's of anything dont do sqaut. melta weapons are suicidal do to the fact you get double str only when your within 12.

This is fine as a CC blob, id rather put your HWT in this blob then in HWS's due to double toughness kills, the blob will soak up any hits better. (AC's would be perfect)

Drop the mortors they dont really have a strong impact on games, i never liked them they were too "unreliable" i would go with LC's or AC's. another thing you always want the same weapons in your squads, so the AC with the lascannons is a waste bc it will spend its time targeting AV units instead of troops. Missle launchers are eh IMO bc of the scatter rule.

Ive pointed out the issues I saw, i would tweek it just a smiggen more personally, but i wish you the best of luck, if anything drop marbo and get yourself that chimera for your CCS, dont want to give away 2 free kill points that easy. good luck on your tourny

@Blackheart - red text is reserved for Moderator use, if you wouldn't mind...

I agree with keeping the HWS all the same weapon, though I don't rate IG Missiles, because they've a poor rate of fire that BS3 makes more critical. For the same reason, I'd only have Las in a blob, so you at least have meat shields.

Its not that I ignored you all in your suggestions, but part of my motivation for this list as is was range. I want to try keeping my CCs out of the fight for as long as I can, and judgeing by the opponents face books, I need higher str and ap then massive wounds. The reason for not mounting the CCS and mounting the psykers in stead was for this reason in part. I want my psykers to rush ahead and start dropping plates and scareing troops off the table edge. I'll for sure let you all know how it goes. The other thing is a lack of modeled troops with meltas and plasmas. I have a thing about not useing the right weapon.

I had it in the back of my head that you might be short of some models, which was partly why I decided not to be too hard with my comments about your latest list....I could be very hard believe me, especially seen as it's a Tournament list

As for Psykers in Chimeras...I also prefer them in a transport because they are extremely weak and don't have the capability to take sustained damage, and the more that die the less powerful they become.

I also prefer my CCS in a Chimera, but then again I use them as an alternative to a vet Squad with 4 SW's...your build is fine for the role you have in mind for it.

I agree that Mortars aren't that good but an idea for your CCS is -
drop the Lascannon HWT and make it a Mortar HWT instead, as that way you can be totally out of LOS and still fire the Mortar and the MoO...just food for thought maybe.

I was just hopeing to use the CCS lascannon for the BS4 attack of op and all that. I have already submitted the list so its locked in now. To be honest, one of my troops just got found guilty today and I, being his fearless leader, have to escort him for his appointments during confinement. Yay!

There's nothing wrong with the Lascannon in the CCS, and it wasn't my intention to suggest there is...I just mentioned about the Mortar because it was been talked about so I offered up some info.
