Might want to check out the Elysian Drop Troops over on Forgeworld site for soem very cool models and bits. You can field an Elysian per C:IG, but some of the additional models and fluff from the Imperial Armour books is/are not sanctioned as official units/rules/game mechanics. Doesn't prevent you from field an IA:IG list in friendly games.

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhamme...filter_reset=1

For the Platoon Command Squads, definitely keep that squad as 4x flamers. The rest is whatever you really want to do i think hehe. Might as well stick the regimental standard in there on the Company Command Squad. With 3x vendettas (thats 9x TL S9 shots) the lascannon HWTs might be not be needed. Maybe get some more AC's and/or possibly some mortars in there to pin down the enemy with barrages to go along with those pinning ratling snipers. Remember the vendettas can carry a squad around so perhaps swap out something to get 3x Special Weapon Squads with 1xDemoCharge & 2x Flamers or 2x Meltaguns for late game objective claiming (DC's are really good).

Ratlings are much better at sniping than any guard unit so perhaps give your vets plasma guns.

Some Deepstriking suicide gank stormtrooper squads 5x strong with 2x meltas might work with this list too.

The Marlboro Manly Man would be cool too just to have fun messing around with enemy HQ.

Oh well, just some thoughts. Hope it helps and GL.

Tak

you puted some things in my mind and indeed those elysianns look nice but im sticking to my good old fashon ww2 paratroopers =]
the reason why i have the extra 3 squads whit las cannons is bcouse they will be longer around on the board then those 3 vendetta's and if my commands go off propperly ill have 12 tl lascannon's roaming around on the board and i aint to mutch a fan of plasma bcouse for now they have killed more of my men then enemies (and i play marines ffs) (excluding plasma canon's they are awsome).

ive been messing whit my list and it's giving me a good feeling bcouse this will be an army the will have no vehicels except for planes

I really do hope you have lots of fun with this list, but it isn't efficient or competitive for the most part -

- Sniper Rifles aren't that good as you'll need 3 of those Squads to all focus their fire on a single enemy MEQ unit to do any decent damage at all...simply not killy enough and are far poorer than all the other SW's other than GL's. Add Cover to the equation and it gets even worse.

Ratlings, while not great is the best place to get Snipers on the field...for Vets they're a waste - Plasma/Melta only.

Good SW combos for SWS units are a mix of Flamers, Meltas, and Demo Charges.

While the PCS is ok as-is, some Flamers does mean they can act as a counter assaulter/protector for your Infantry...works well I've found, even on foot.

Not that I'm a fan of GL's but they are a good match for Harker's HB.

Doctrines, while fluffy, are mainly points - sucks...more bodies on the ground, and/or more efficient SW's is far more productive and thrifty.

My 2c anyway...best of luck with your plans

the reason why i have no vet spam whit melta's is bcouse i have 12tl lascannons to deal whit it (same as whit plasma bcouse that just sucks) i just think my main issue is vs inf (where plasma may be good but it sucks) and melta just sucks thats why i opted for the snipers bcouse ok they don't go all the 48 inches as the auto cannons but they get further then all of em and the pinning is a rather good bonus

im trying to get a fluffy army that can work on the board and im trying to stick a bit whit air cav tactics (aka no tanks) and stealth combat so far i think it looks rather well

btw if ill take melta vets ill turn a vendetta in to a valkery and throw them to the front to take a landraider out and prob miss and loose my vets (my dice can roll only ones or sixes apperently) and i quite like te las cannons

btw atm what we have playing is 1 orks 2dark elder 1 necrons 2 guard and 1 ba 1 sw and gay knights (inquisition + paladins)

Nothing wrong with themed lists, and the fact you like what you have is by far the best reason to have what you have. But Sniper Rifles are still poor weapons when compared to most of the other SW's. Yes they are compatible with the HW's the vets have because you can't move anyway, just don't expect to kill much.

I would at least drop the Doctrines and get more bodies, because in the end Vets are always only 10-strong and T3, so will die easily to concentrated firepower irregardless of that slightly better save.

Best of luck in your gaming.
