Default 1500 army I use. Critique welcome.

CCS, 4 plasmaguns, chimera (vanilla), SO has plasma pistol and PW

Techpriest Enginseer, 2 servitors + 1 HB servitor

Ratlings x3
Ratlings x3

Scout Sentinel, smoke
Scout Sentinel
Scout Sentinel

Veterans, 2 meltas, SGT has plasma pistol and PW

PCS, 2 GL, AC, JO has plasma pistol and PW
Squad w/ AC
Squad w/ AC

PCS, 2 GL, HB, JO has plasma pistol and PW
Squad w/ HB
Squad w/ HB

Leman Russ BT, replace HB w/ Lascannon

Ordnance Battery
Basilisk x3

It has been awhile since I last played and I am still getting used to the finer points of the new rules (love that they can't consolidate in close combat anymore!). I have done well with the list and would just like to hear your more experienced thoughts on it.

mmm i like the list, i would although take out the PW of the vet serg and give the squad another melta (or P.pistol)

Vets could also use a transport, either a chimera or vendetta, or a Valkyrie.
dont know what your plans are for the techie, i personaly am starting to gain a love for the 3+ and 4+ save buggers.

and im going to assume your blobbing your infantry squads? if you are then a commissar in each could help bolster their staying power.

overall it looks pretty good, and if its working for you thats even better

I keep wanting to use the techpriest because I love his mini. However, he is an absolute, horrible waste of points in any list.

Very true on the techie. I use it only because I do love the mini. It's just a game and I'll lose if I need to haha! I do like the idea of the commissars, now to see if I can find any of those rare female commissar models.

Normally the tech hangs out around the Basilisks as they do tend to draw attraction. He's even repaired one once!

I'm surprised not to see any voice casters in your squads!?
Otherwise, I'm not convinced by the heavy bolters in the infantry squads, as they already provide a lot of anti-infantry firepower with their lasguns. I prefer some anti-tanks like the usual AC or missile launcher.

Honestly the voxes cost too much what they provide me IMO. That's three and a half plasma pistols right there! Also when dealing with those orders I either do okay or fail horribly so the voxes end up being useless anyways.

I may swap out the bolters for missile launchers (options as far as anti horde or tank). I'll tinker around and see if I like the way it plays any better.

On a side note I have fallen in love with the valk model. I never really saw one put together until last weekend and it looks almost like the landers used in "Aliens". So naturally I HAVE to buy one (or two haha).

For guards on foot, I find the vox a precious addition, with the orders being so crucial for them, as much against hordes as against MC or tanks.

As for the valkyries, on a personal side I find the vendettas more effective, and fill an anti-heavy-tank that you may lack.

I wonder, if i put a vox on one platoon then blob two together then would that suffice to reroll any orders for that entire blob? (is this an okay question to ask, if not please delete)

For a Blob, whether it's 20 strong or 50, only needs 1 Vox for it to work with Orders...same goes for adding 1 Commissar as his abilities work across the whole blob regardless of size.
