Default Outsider and Void Dragon.

I made these rules up for an Apocalypse game in which I wanted to see how good 4 C'tan would be. Any comments are welcome especially on the points cost which I'm not too sure about.

Outsider 320 points.
WS 5
BS 4
S 9
T 8
W 5
I 4
A 4
Ld 10
Sv 4/4*

Special Rules: C'tan

The outsiders mind has been broken and his mutterings make even the strongest warrior nervous - all models within 12" have their Ld reduced to 7 and all fearless models within 12 have to take Ld tests.

The outsiders realm is an illogical labyrinth (necron codex pg 63) and he intends to create another - all models within 6" treat the ground as difficult terrain, including when assaulting.

The outsider can cause the enemy to rip themselves apart as they lose their sanity. In the shooting phase he shoots a weapon with the following profile-
18" S5 Ap3 Assault 5

Builder of the Lego Manta

WFB - Brettonians

Hmm... Not sure about making the Void Dragon as strong as the Nightbringer...

I like it and the Void Dragon should be as strong as the Night Bringer. In fact it's stronger. . .

Yeah I decided for the purpose of this to make him just better than the Nightbringer because no one knows how strong the missing two are. I seem to remember a thread which wanted to know which one was stronger but no one could agree so I decided the VD was.

Right, this needs to stop.

The Void Dragon isn't even as strong AS the Nightbringer, never mind possibly stronger.

Where did people get this idea from? Have any of you read the Necron Codex?

Is it because he's called a Dragon? Or because he's still hidden?
The Nightbringer is the strongest, period. If you don't believe me read the codex...

This isn't a hissy fit, there's just only so many times you can read 'The void Dragon is strongest"

Read the Codex...

I didn't really want to get too much into a discussion about who is stronger but I got the idea from Lexicanum where it states that " In a transcript of a vox-communication between one Inquisitor Horst and a Techpriest Alagos, the Void Dragon is mentioned as the most powerful of all the star-gods and that it had the ability to create almost invincible warriors."

I have read the codex but maybe I've missed the part where it says the Nightbringer is definitely the strongest. I'll tone him down to be more in line with the fluff if you could point me to it. I've already reduced his actual strength because I don't doubt that the Nightbringer is the strongest physically, just his overall strength compared to other C'tan
Thanks

I probably seemed a bit inflamed then, if so I apologise.

And to be fair to you, the 'Discussion of Heroes torment' hasn't even started yet. My Codex is upstairs so I couldn't give you a page reference, I'm pretty sure its in the C'tan section in the Nightbringer's stat and fluff entry. But his statlines have never reflected how good he is, and when are they ever comparable to the fluff?

If I remember correctly, wasn't the Nightbringer forced into hibernation in a weakened state? His stats in C:N may not have reflected him at full power.

Also, we shall be seeing a new codex soon... hopefully. Then they may republish the two awakened C'tan then. And if they don't, they may be released as APOC datasheets (as I think they should). Gargantuan creatures anyone? That would probably reflect the true might of a star god.

Well, that is my $0.03 worth (damn you weak american dollar!)

I heard (I forget where now) that in the new necrons codex, the C'Tan wouldn't be in there, but would be turned into all-powerful apoc datasheets. And for those who already use C'Tan models, it can represent a special necron lord that takes on the form of it's master, or something like that.
