Default Quick Presentation Question

I began working on a homebrew Guard regiment and its accompanying fluff for a friend. It's spiralled much wider than I expected and now I have history and background for the planet, the surrounding sector, the Guard regiment itself, and a homebrew Astartes chapter that has a chapel-barracks on the planet.

My question is: should I present the whole damn mess in one thread, like a sourcebook sorta thing? Or is there a more appropriate way to go about it?

Whilst I think any divisions across threads should be entirely up to you (though maybe separate the Chapter from the Regiment but add a link to the partner thread in each topic) I will give you some advice in regards to your homebrew threads.

If it is extremely large then makes sure that once you've created the thread you reserve the first 2-3 replies (by clicking on the Reply button and typing in something like "Reserved for Updates") because Heresy has a 10,000 character limit for posts.

If you go over that limit the system automatically deletes the entire contents of your post, but with those update slots you can make a continuous topic without it being broken up by the member comments below. See The Chapter Background Generator for an example of what I mean.

I've seen you do that, actually. Sounds good. Thank you!

Didn't even realise that was you Spikey; Is that a new haircut I see? The downsides to changing an avatar.

And I'd like to read a well written regimental/IA article.

Index Astartes- it's what the articles on army background (specifically about Space Marines) are called in White Dwarf.

Of course IA also sometimes stands for Imperial Armour, the 40k books released by Forge World so be aware of the context 'IA' is used in.

Ah, gotcha.

Yes, this project will produce an IA on a chapter I call Arkangels, an Imperial Guard regiment, possibly an Adepta Sororitas order, and background and history on the main planet in question as well as the surrounding worlds and the sector in which they all reside.
