adeptus assassin fluff

my 3rd try at writing 40k stuff

The assassin crept silently through the darkness, his target was near and he knew it. He waited as a palace guard walked past him, resisting the urge to kill him with one blow. Once the guard had passed he looked to see if it was safe to proceed. Once he realized it was clear he quickly ran through the shadows towards the old building. He heard the slight squeak of a security camera turning and dived for the shadow cast by the large palace, landing without a sound. Slowly rising, the assassin examined the wall for a way to climb up and into the palace. Then he saw it, a large cluster of creeper vines running up the building all the way to his targets room. He began climbing up the vines, careful to avoid any more security cameras. All of a sudden the vines in his hand went slack. He dived for the next cluster above him he managed to get a hold on it, wincing as he heard the thud of the vine hitting the ground. He waiting 5, 10, 15 full minutes until continuing onward. Finally, the assassin crawled into the targets room and began waiting for the target to arrive…
“Sir, the deal with chaos lord is proving extremely profitable, in addition sir they have promised us full protection from the emperor’s men if we turn openly.” Said the tactical advisor “I know that, but to turn openly would mean facing the wrath of the imperium and that is a force not to be reckoned with” responded governor Silatus of Cratia. “Sir the empire will soon realize our intentions and wipe us off the map if we do not receive reinforcements. Whether you like it or not we need their protection” insisted the tactical advisor. “Please excuse me, I need a moment to relax in my quarters.” The governor slowly walked away to his room, dismissing his guards with a flick of his wrist as he entered.
The assassin watched as the target said something to an advisor and then dismissed his guards. Now was his chance to strike. He waited till the target had closed the door before crawling out of the corner and along the wall. He slowly came up behind the target and readied his blade. Finally, he struck, his knife whistling as it slashed through the air towards the targets throat. The governor turned his head slightly before the knife stabbed through his ear, slicing through bone with ease until finally reaching his brain. The assassin pulled his knife out of the governor’s head and hid his body inside the governor’s mattress. Now that the traitor was dead, the assassin’s only remaining objective was to escape. He quietly climbed out the window and lowered himself onto the vines. As the assassin began climbing he heard a loud siren sound. The alarm!
He quickly scrambled down the side of the building, jumping the last few feet. He pressed himself against the wall of the building as guards ran past trying to find him. He had a plan to escape, he always had a plan. He reached into his bag and pulled out a gas mask. He immediately put it on. “Next comes the hard part…” he said to himself. The assassin carefully pulled out a vial of deadly neurotoxins and loaded it into a special-made grenade. He pulled the pin and silently counted to 3 before throwing it into the crowd of guards. The instant it went off he began running, he quickly crossed the plaza, killing any guard unfortunate enough to get in his way. He ran to the other end and jumped the handrail; falling 20 feet to the river below…
