Default Shifra Dynasty; Dramatis Personae

The following is a list of characters associated with the Shifra Dynasty; the Kingdom of Blades.

Name: Mithrahc of Hidden Tears
Rank: Phaeron
Weapon: Staff of Light
Description:
Mithrahc is tall and imposing as all necron nobility are. He carries the bearing of a ruler who has suffered greatly in his time, and was an old man of few surviving family at the time of biotransference. Having lost his sons in the war with the Old Ones, it seemed his kingdom was doomed to assimilation by rival dynasties until the boon of the c'tan made his title eternal.

Mithrahc rarely takes to battle anymore, content to trust his Nemesor and his web of underlings to carry his will to the stars and the living beings that infest the worlds between. He is plagued by the knowledge of a c'tan he cannot fully remember, and is torn between the desire to pursue the creature and his duty to keep his kingdom thriving. Once a dutiful servant of the Messenger, this phaeron now carries the same intense fear and hatred of all star gods that his race has borne since times long since consigned only to memory.

Name: Nemreth the God Hunter.
Rank: Nemesor
Weapon: Warscythe
Description:
Nemreth is a recent addition to the servants of Mithrahc, having spent centuries prior in the pursuit of capturing rogue c'tan shards. Once a mighty phaeron in his own right, his dogged ambition saw the systematic destruction of his own forces until barely a dozen units remained in any semblance of functionality. He bartered service to the Shifra Dynasty in exchange for the most recent c'tan shard he had captured. His agenda remains oriented around vengeance against the c'tan for their betrayal so long ago. He views mortals with disdain, having seen many fall under the sway of false and unworthy gods. Despite this, he will adhere to the Codes of Battle and holds a high regard for the laws of the Triarch.

Name: Seprin the Observer
Rank: Lead Cryptek
Weapon: Staff of Light
Description:
Seprin is a powerful psychomancer, a long time ally of Mithrahc and one time servant of the Messenger. His own memories become void past his biotransference, and rumours persist among the court that he fell victim to one of his own machinations. In whispers another cryptek named Neka claimed to know the truth, but none have pursued the matter. Seprin's services are invaluable to the Shifra Dynasty and none among the court will risk his ire nor rob themselves of his boons.

There will be many more to come.

Name: Sevronh the Indomitable
Rank: Nemesor
Weapon: Warscythe
Description:
Sevronh lives for little more than personal combat, a role he has proven himself adept at many times over. His stature is slightly larger than even Mithrahc, and his weapon a brutal curved scythe that puts even Nemreth's prowess to shame. It was Sevronh that spearheaded all of Mithrahc's campaigns in the past, and Sevronh that defeated the most powerful of his Phaeron's enemies. When Nemreth joined the ranks of the Shifra Dynasty, Sevronh was immediately willing to share the title of Nemsor if only to combine his own martial prowess with the military cunning of his counterpart. Sevronh is loyal and committed, and places the advancement of the Blade Kingdom before personal desires.

Name: Tenrath the Ambitious
Rank: Lord
Weapon: Warscythe
Description:
Tenrath has for millennia been a subservient member of the Shifra court, commanding smaller operations as parts of much wider campaigns. In life he was a loyal military commander and had his eyes on the rank of nemesor. Since biotransference, he has longed for the ascension to higher ranks that have to this day eluded him. Dreams of commanding entire campaigns, perhaps one day even inheriting the throne of his childless phaeron, became forever frozen with the c'tan's gifts of immortality. Thus far he has resisted the temptation to usurp such titles from others, but each century sees his frustration grow...

Name: Mortekh The Annihilator
Rank: Destroyer Lord
Weapon: Phase Blades (Warscythe)
Description:
Mortekh embodies what it means for nobility to succumb to madness. Once one of the upstanding Triarch Praetorians that guarded the ancient codes of battle and the laws of the necrontyr, he is now a twisted parody of a warrior driven only by the desire to destroy. A Destroyer Cult had been slowly growing in the ranks of the Shifra Dynasty for some centuries before Mortekh's own descent, and with his leadership they have become a notable movement in their own right. Although Mortekh technically still carries the authority of the Praetorians, he is not alone among their number and is for the most part overruled by his former comrades. Nonetheless, he considers himself completely justified in all his actions, subverting the flow of battle as he sees fit to bring about the demise of the living as efficiently as possible. Not for him the usual modifications of the Destroyer, but rather Mortekh had seen his body transformed into something resembling the canoptek scarabs and spyders that rend flesh with ghastly ease. What remains of Mortekh's past awareness is steadily fading, and in time he will be no better than the cold emotionless robots he has come to resemble.

Name: Dehrus the Cruel

Rank: Cryptek

Weapon: Staff of Light

Description:

Dehrus is an extremist among his fellows, a scientist utterly devoid of morals and any semblance of ethics. While others may respect the codes of battle, or at the very least acknowledge them, Dehrus will spare no effort in maintaining any creed bar the pursuit of knowledge. He considers his own studies more important than any petty politics or matters of honour and conquest. It is Dehrus who is always first to bring deathmark assassins to a battle, it is Dehrus who will break the codes at a moment's notice if more efficient opportunities present themselves. He learned long ago that the Triarch Praetorians are loathe to slay those of cryptek rank, and has taken many layers of precaution should his luck with them ever finally run out. Dehrus earned his title when he employed high intensity neutron weapons to purge a city of life rather than wait several extra days for a military attack to be arranged. Close to a billion humans, men, women and children alike perished in agony over the course of a week simply so Dehrus could access an ancient necron outpost facility buried beneath. The act was so brash, and the cryptek's utter lack of remorse so blatant that even Nemreth was shaken.

Name: Teloc Unmaker
Rank: Lord
Weapon: Staff of Light
Description:
Teloc Ummaker is an enigmatic servant of the Shifra Dynasty. Though few among the court remember the exact date of his ascension to their ranks, all have extensive recollection of his deeds in battle. Teloc leads from the front, ensuring the completion of his tasks first hand rather than simply overseeing his underlings. He speaks never, and seems to have no higher ambition than service. The resources granted to him by his superiors are always put towards the furtherance of his tasks, and are always used as efficiently as possible.

Name: Tolec Unmaker
Rank: Lord
Weapon: Staff of Light
Description:
Tolec is the twin sibling of Teloc, and the sheer opposite of him in many ways. Whereas Teloc is silent and efficient, Tolec is outspoken and rash. Tolec makes no secrets of his higher ambitions and brags of his exploits, but is as silent as his brother regarding his failures. Though he eyes the throne of the phaeron with longing, he is no fool and knows better than most that for the time being at least, such ambitions must remain in the realm of dreams.
