Golith the Cursed (CSM Sorcerer)
Just a little something I came up with a while ago when I started collecting Chaos. I liked the idea of my Sorcerer in fact not really being a Sorcerer, but see what you guys think.
Golith was once a champion of the World Eaters, feared by all and worshiped by cultists as ‘The blood god in mortal form’. Even before the Horus Heresy, Golith was a warrior without peer, able to fell whole legions just by himself. When the World Eaters began their decent into chaos, Golith was at the forefront, leading his men into the service of the Blood God. Golith seemed unstoppable, until he took part in the raid on the Sorcerous world of Placto.
The planet belonged to a Coven known as the ‘Coven of Eight’. Eight mighty Sorcerers and their cultist followers lived on the planet, devoting their lives to the pursuit of ultimate power by manipulating the warp. During the fight, Golith was hit by a powerful beam of pure warp energy that would have felled any lesser Space Marine. He was able to cut the Sorcerer in two but it was too late, his body began to warp and change. A Lord of Change known only as ‘Serca’ saw an opportunity and tried to possess the Champion , to use his body to gain access to the Moral realm. But what Serca failed to account for was Golith’s sheer willpower. The champion was able to stop himself from becoming a slave of the Daemon, but was not able to banish it back to the warp.
When his men found him, Golith had changed, his head looking like that of a mythical beast. His muscles twice the size of the average terminator, but that was not all. The Daemon had become part of him, both Space marine and Daemon sharing the same body but having separate consciousness. This meant the Golith had become what him and his God despised the most, a psyker. As was the code of his Legion, Golith was marked for death and hunted by his legion, still fighting with the Daemon for control of his body. Escaping into the void of space in a small cargo ship, Golith focussed his full attention on the intruder in his mind. It was then the Daemon possessing his body spoke to him. It offered him deal, if he assisted the Daemon, keeping if safe in its vulnerable form, it would find a way to release them from their eternal torture. Having no other choice, Golith accepted the offer, a half life was better than death whichever way you look at it.
Since the formation of the pact, Golith has been reported to have been part of a great number of incursions against the Imperium, renowned for both his skill in combat as well as his mastery of the warp. However, it has also been noted that Golith’s behaviour can become irrational, where both Daemon and mortal fight for control of his body. It is not uncommon for him to stop in the middle of a charge to fire deadly warpfire into his enemy or to stop halfway through casting a spell to charge into the middle of the enemy with no regard for personal safety. Those who know of such partial possessions have regarded this to be odd, for usually by this point one of the parties has been able to master the other, beating them back until only one entity remains. Others have considered this to be the ultimate melding of the mortal and daemonic soul, producing a warrior with no peer.
Recent reports suggest that he has joined up with a Sorcerer of the Thousand Sons legion. To what end is uncertain, but what is known that the longer Golith is alive, the more powerful he becomes.
