Even though i doubt it'll happen i would still love to see the Battle of Unnumbered Tears on screen.

Finished: Too Much Love Will Kill You (working title), an original fiction novel. Working on: Second draft of Too Much Love, and the first draft of A Winter's Tale (working title).

My favourite battle is the Siege of Gondolin. I would truly like to see it on screen... Great battle, truly epic, dramatic, with a traitor, a love story and everything needed for a hollywood blockbuster.
This part of the Silmarillon could even work for those ones who do not know all the other parts of the book.

Aye, the Siege of Gondolin would make for a great on screen battle!

Regards,
Jake.

For me it's gotta be the battle of Pelennor Fields. I mean, it had everything: A siege, flaming catapults, a giant wolf-shaped battering ram, Gandalf telling the soldiers of Minas Tirith that they must hold their ground no matter what comes through the door a second before three very angry Mordor Trolls wearing very spikey armour bust through, a massed cavalry charge, (with awesome, fitting music in the background, even without Amon Amarth) a dragon, giant elephants with four tusks, really awesome moves from the heroes to bring down said elephants, (Legolas on the haldar, the shot into the Beastmaster which takes down two Mumakil, Eowyn slitting the ankles of one) ghosts, and pretty much everything else.
Helm's Deep is a close second though, tying with the Last March of the Ents.
Moria, Shelob and Amon Hen didn't actually have the whole "two massive armies" thing going for them, so they lost a bit there. If a company of Wood Elves and/or Galadhrim had been escorting the Fellowship, then it would be pretty cool because of the whole woodland fighting part of it.

My favorite is from "A Hym Before Battle" by John Ringo

If you haven't read the book theres a chapter where all these Americans in Battle Suits, guess you could compare it to power armor but requireing a huge power source. Basically they come out of this lake with a holographic hydra projected around them while thier commander is blareing "The Imagrant Song" and they just start killing every alien in site (Polseen). The whole book is just Epic, as well as the series.

I also have to put all the battles in "Armor" as they are pretty epic too.

I should change my name to Number 1. Not because I am conceited but because thats what I always roll at inopportune moments.

seeing how two of my favourite armies are Uruk-Hai and Rohan I have to say the entire battle of helms deeps just the grittiness of the landscape and the rain pounding off the Uruk-Hai armour its awesome.

and like Ingensus the Rohirrim charge at pelannor fields, I always feel awe struck when I see that, no matter how many times I watch it.

You realise this is the LOTR section, right?

For me, almost anything from the simirillion, Or the Battle of unnumbered tears. On film, most likely Helm's Deep.
