Default interest waned LOTR

Around my parts it seems that interest has waned in all things LOTR at GW.

I think that this is a crying shame, im a huge fan of all things Tolkien, and when i was 13 or so, the LOTR SBG was my first foray into tabletop wargaming.

Now I know that with the impending release of 'The Hobbit' movies, some new life will be breathed into the game and bring in some new fans, but im hoping that it will bring some of the old fans back out of the woodwork, out into the open.

Does anyone agree with me? I feel the need for more kindred spirits, and would love some more lively LOTR related debates and banter on here, as sadly in my town, nobodys bothered in my GW.

Rant over, get in touch

I don't know if it's played at my local store, I assumed it's not though because I never saw a game of it when I visited, but I was really good at it when it came out, then I moved home and didn't get back into GW until I started reading the Black Library books again.

I remember coming third or fourth though in a tournament at Warhammer World though. Losing by one model in the semi final game.

I dunno if I should get back into it, I dunno if it's still a support game by GW or is it going the way of Necromunda and other specialist games.

I really hope its not going the same way as Necromunda. I know what you mean, I did the same, i was away from the hobby for a few years (discovered beer and girls) but came back on a whim and realised how much i'd missed out on a worthwhile and fulfilling hobby.
