Anything with heavy shooting will cause you problems, once you lose a few rhinos you might have problems getting the other rhinos where you need them to go. Kill point missions are going to be bad too. Against my army I could probably pick up 3 - 4 kill points a turn against that army.

I think your missing out on all the crazy elements of the Ordo Malleus. That looks more like a tough IG list than a Daemonhunters. And it can't really surprise the enemy with anything.

You can take Daemonhosts since you have no Grey Knights, and they have serious potential to disrupt a battle plan.

Also the Assassins, particularly Callidus, are awesome.

Both units add an element that can disrupt an enemy's plan. The Storm Troopers are just hoping to shoot more than they get shot and the Inquisitor is just going to roll forward and assault.

I'd say lose the two flamer squads and get an assassin and some daemonhosts.

The lance strike is also nasty since it can pretty much cut off one piece of the board. It lands every turn after in comes from reserves, so getting it early is a big factor in its success, but it is nasty.

So I guess you should try to mix it up a bit otherwise you'll be a little to predictable with no elites

Deamon Host will Help, also I would get Chimeras instead of Rhino (Tougher and better armed), and finally a LR or 2 for HS. Now you have a preatty decent 2000 pt army.

Great suggestions Warlock in Training, but remember that this is a 1500pt army and so your advice should stick with keeping it that way unless the OP states otherwise.

Not the greatest setup in the world, since they will never be the close combat badasses of other armies; but all the same a very cool idea. Each guy is cheap and can do fairly well if able to make attacks, wouldn't change a thing.

Decent squads for holding objectives, normally I'd suggest dropping the number of guys down to eight men, but in this case they should have a squad of ten bodies.

Now here I'd suggest dropping two from each squad, gives you some points back for other upgrades and goodies.

I'm echoeing rdlb on the suggestion of removing the flamer squads; you don't want them to be getting into flamer range, and the points could be spent on other things to beef up the rest of your army.

As Warlock in Training suggested, I would use all the points you have to upgrade all of the rhino's to chimera's. If I did the points right then I believe your total is actually 1474, leaving you 26 to work with, if you lost the four storm troopers then that toal jumps up to 76. (More than enough to swap two for chimera's with multi-lasers and hull heavy bolters for the added firepower.)


Right now it can do a fair amount, but can't take much punishment from anything. It has only one unit of close combat punch, and other than the land raider the rest of the army is close range shooting. Some slightly heavier armour could definitely be helpful here.

Just realized I don't think you can do this. You can only have 3 of one type for a retinue, and those 6 all fall under the same type.

No they are actually two different types. Acolytes are their own category, made up of interrogators and the like, while the combat servitors are from the warrior category, which is made up of veterans and servitors.

So the retinue is fine, three from one section and three from another.

I was thinking you could get artificer armor for each acolyte instead of a power sword. Their strength is junk so they barely wound anyway, but with the artificer armor you basically have 2+ saves for all the extra wounds. This way the Inquisitor would last a lot longer in CC, especially since the Daemonhammer usually strikes at initiative 1.

I neglected to add before that I'm glad you have no Grey Knights. Everyone seems to get caught up in them and the rest of the codex is pretty cool too. So, very refreshing!!

Opps, you are right, I was thinking crusaders....

I think if you drop a few storm troopers you could get a ward save for your lord. Also I think a few chimeras instead of rhinos would do you good. Add a few extra shots before you are within close shooting range. Run one in between two rhinos to protect their weaker side armour.

Personally I would do GK. Inquisitors are real cool though. I like the list but I would go Chimeras..... ever thought of Coteaz?
