Default Need the opions of Heritics!

I saw on the GW site these snazzy Death Watch upgrades. Link
Now to add them to a loyalist army for apocalypse or just fun, would you feel it acceptible for them to be given Sternguard Rules? If no then what?

I would like to have a squad of ten count as sternguards for those fun Apocalypse games, lots of character and fun for themed games. Thoughts?

Yeah, I reckon Sternguard rules seems appropiate for the Deathwatch. If you're playing a friendly game and have the Grey Knight Codex, maybe ask your opponent if you can have an Inquisitor as an HQ as well, just to make the thing seem more 'Deathwatch-y'?

I do play IMPERIAL FIST, and as per fluff their veterans could be deathwatch, so i use them as sternguard, even im considering make a custom miniature for pedro kantor become a death watch captain.

i think that for $25 its way over priced, and you get the death watch shoulder pad in plastic in the command squad sprue IIRC (so itd be cheaper to order/trade the bits IMO)

if you play SMs you prolly have enough bolter scopes so thats an alternative to those metal boltguns. and most likely as many bionic eye/other faces.

but the idea of them is just great i would do it too...but my army is mainly black so DW wouldnt do anything image wise.

It's what I did although I didn't stop at 1 Squad...the model conversions are many and varied but very expensive if you go all out on Chapter specific Backpacks/Shoulder Pads/Weapons etc like I did.

Does look damn sweet on the Board though with all the various Chapter S/Pad colours...so go for it
