Don't forget that no one had fought them, either, so they had the element of surprise. Even the Eldar would have been like "WTF!!" Just like when the Tau and Tyranids appeared and took everyone off guard. Now they're just predictable...

I'd just like to point out here that everyone who has posted about them fighting orks has managed to misread his post, he merely said they hadn't fought orks before. That is to say, the great crusade was their first time fighting orks. Not that they did not fight orks at all, just that they hadn't fought them before.

Yeah, I'd have to go with Pre-Heresy Marines. They may of had limited contact with Orcs etc initially, but after 10,000 years those left will have fought anything and everything.

Technically, you could compare them side to side. Let's look at pre-heresy marines that survive today and see how powerful they are.

Abaddon
Ahriman
Bjorn
Fabius Bile
Lucius
Typhon

Wow its amazing that almost every CSM special character is at least 1000 years old (this is a highly conservative estimate do to time dilation in the warp). With the exception of huron of cause.

You couldn't use them, with the exception of Bjorn, as a basis for comparison because they have all had their chaos booster shots.

The Website kept telling me that my profile was only 80% complete without creating a signature. Ain't no website going to tell me I was a lazy shit, no sir.
