New army! any help to offer? muchly appreciated ;)

so im thinking of starting a new army and am clueless about what to pick!
so i want an army that is fun to learn and play.i mostly play space marines so would like an army to deal with those pesky 3+ armour saves.
i don't mind shooty or rip em up combat.
but i'm seasoned in shooty armys mainly.
armys i do not want to play are:dark eldar-too damn boring fluff for me.
tau-because this is my main army, gotta love those s10 ap1 rail shots ;)
csm-had them got bored too quickly.
and nids-mine are too overpowerd

Only IG have a 5e Codex and are not mentioned by you...

That said, there is sufficient depth under the 'Marines' umbrella (ella, ella) to cover a wholly different playstyle from your current. The differences between SW Razorspam and SM Bikers are obvious, or BA Jumpers and LoganWing, etc.

Which? lol

DE you have more options than you can shake a stick at, and IG too - though with IG you want a lot of mechanised units in Chimeras, basically.

For DE, you can either convert yourself a pile of Venoms, or go all-Raider. I recommend scrying the Army List Forums here, or viewing some of the major independent Blogs for sample lists. The kind of Blogs that used to comprise the Heresy News Network, for instance.

Not too bad for 500, though I don't honestly consider that even a real game...lol.

No HQ?

Also, listing total KPs is (usually) silly, as it's easy to work out, and largely irrelevant. The number of KPs you have is generally only indicative of how many you can potentially claim per turn, nothing more important than that.

Always check the points before you post an army list. Marbo is 65 points and a scout sentinel is 35 points, also you are missing an HQ.

Praise the sun!

thanks for pointing that out wombat. the reason i did not put an hq was because i need a bit of guidance in picking one lol.
how about
HQ 135 company command
2x GL,lascannon,chimera
troop vet squad 3x melta w chimera ML/HF
same as above 155 each

inf platoon
PCS=2 x GL, lascan
inf 1= GL, auto can
inf 2 autocan 19O heavy support
leman russ demol =180 w lascann
leman russ demol = 180 w lascann
total 995 points 5 points left. i think lol

I like it a lot, tbh.

Pretty solid 1k, good foundation for expansion.
