Default would this be allowed?

Hey guys, I've got a question.

Could I use the Space Wolves codex, but use normal space marine models?

Because I have a very assualty homemade chapter, but I hate all the wolves stuff, and would not want to spend ages filing it all off.

Cheers,
Shas'o

Why do you hate all the wolves stuff?
Reasons not to use normal marines:
1. It will confuse your opponent,
2. It smacks of heretical secrecy,

If you chose Space wolves because of the fluff, there is no reason why you should not use the SW models. If you think they look bad, normal marines would just look a lot worse, IMHO.

Sometimes i wonder 'Why is that frisbee getting bigger?', and then it hits me.

I didn't choose space wolves for the fluff, it just seems like the unit choices they have are more assualty than my chapter.

And the reason I hate space wolf stuff is because I don't like wolves, plus I hate everything about space wolves.

I think that you would be just fine using normal marine models, and doing a Space Wolf successor chapter. Just as long as you are very clear when you begin your games what your intentions are you should be fine. I completely disagree with Karnax. If you dislike the models there is no reason that you should be forced to play them or work with them. Just make sure that you are absolutely clear with your opponent, and perhaps use some wolf motifs in your chapter symbols and iconography. If it is the pelts and skulls and what-not that you don't like, then there are ways to get around that. People play "counts-as" all the time with other chapters and other races because they either don't like the existing model or they want to do something more personalized, and that is part of what this hobby is all about.

Of course you can, im currently in a heated internal debate about using codex: blood Angels for my Ravenguard army, purely so I can run an all jump force.

If your opponent has a problem with something small like that, why are you playing a douche like that anyways?

Alright cool, thanks, they aren't a space wolves successor chapter though, but they do engage in drinking contests with them regulary

They havn't got a chapter parent, because there isn't one that would make any sense.

If you want an assaulty chapter, why not get blood angels? They are a fast moving as well, as most of their vehicles are fast and you can take assault squads as troops, so you canget into assault that much faster.

Midge913, I did not say that even if he didn't like the models, he has to play with them. All I said was, if he chose SW because of their fluff, then he should go with the SW models. However, since he didn't choose them for the fluff, there's no point in talking about it.

Sometimes i wonder 'Why is that frisbee getting bigger?', and then it hits me.

There should be no problem with this what so ever. As long as the models are wysiwyg and you tell your opponent what you're playing with. A space marine is a space marine is a space marine. Besides, how many chaos players used SW for their lists.

No problem from my eyes. As long as units match up WYSIWYG wise then there is nothing stopping you making such a force.
