Feel no Pain lets you have a 4+save if you fail your save but Instant Death and AP1 and 2 weapons ignore FNP

How would you get FNP on Guard anyhow?

I'm not insane I just lack sanity, there's a difference....................somewhere

Depends what you are fighting against, how you get the FNP and how much it costs.

I'm assuming that it would come from a special character and that he would be quite expensive. If so then its almost useless- while it would be great against normal bolter fire or equivalent you would only have 1 squad with its effects... which means that you would attract S6+ fire (which would be instant death and no FNP)- almost every army has enough S6 weapons to be able to use them on 1 of your squads
Nids, Marines, Chaos, Tau would have no trouble. Orks would care much (they'll beat you in combat anyway) and eldar could either have the S6 weapons or would just use power weapons against you.

Basically, unless its either cheap and/or available on many different squads at once (meaning the enemy's S6 weapons wont cover it and they'll have to resort to the basic weapons) then its not really worth taking.

The rules for Feel No Pain are on p75 of the main book, but as far as I know, there is no way to get it on anything but command squads. There's no way I know of to get FNP on a 30 man guard squad

You could get feel no pain by using the medical centre (I think thats what its called) strategem in cities of death and placing that squad next to it.

Is this what you had in mind?

So wait, FNP gives you a save that stacks? thats excellent!

Like Mr G said above, I think you should probably read the full rules for it to understand the ins and outs - for example, basic guard as I understand them would not be able to roll FNP from Heavy Bolter type fire (S6vsT3).

Well, not from S6... but heavy bolters are only S5 so that'll still work

No, that's a misunderstanding, it's not a save, it's a roll to ignore a wound inflicted upon you...there is a distinction...

Seriously though, how can you get 30 IG with FNP??

But yeah, FNP is rolled after you fail a saving roll, and on a 4+ you don't take a wound.

It cannot be taken on a few conditions:

The wound was inflicted by a weapon of Strength double or more your Toughness.
The wound was inflicted by an attack that does not allow armour saves (ap 1 or 2, power weapons, rending attacks, Perils, Dangerous terrain, etc.)
