Default Stormtroopers/Clamshell

I'm repainting some old stormtroopers today (had 30 of the previous ones, not as fond of the kasrkin)....and it struck me.
The sculptor for these guys MUST have been a david drake fan.
Has anyone else noticed the similarity to the Hammer's Slammers descriptions of their clamshell armour?

It's hard to find someone who likes military SF that doesn't like him.

I'm trying to sculpt up a Maj. Steuben for my IG (just the head).

Hey! Where'd ... Everybody ... go?

lemme know what you are using for the core of the model, that sounds like a good idea!

I would use the 'commissar-ish' body from the baneblade kit to start, but I def wanna see your build....

Maj Steuben just wears the regular gear (only neater and cleaner - I don't recall it ever being described as anything other than this). His trademark is his custom powergun (1cm pistol) with the filigree and engraving.

I'll be using a regular cadian torso, catachan legs, and one of the pistol arms. Probably a sgt head with some added hair. He's not a commissar - just a sociopath. :D

Yeah, moreso than anything...
Just wracking the cabeza to make him stand out...

He'd have been awesome for inquisitor scale!

And not a socipath, just mis-understood..
