^ source? I know some people who would revel in such information.

Unfortunately Canada got rid of the penny and now my two cents rounds down to zero, so...take it for what you will.

BoLS has posted a few times on this matter. This is from a recent article;

Back on topic now. Allies.

Grey Knights are a good option as well, but you go back to needing to fit the requirements.

Cheap and powerful librarians can throw Divination around for your ranged firepower from the AdMech.*

Techmarines can be HQs also and help repair your Onagers.

A squad of Terminators as your required troops will give you a little more durable unit that can deepstrike in.

Stormraven for air support while your waiting for the rumored AdMech flier.

Purifiers offer two attacks, making them a good option instead of incinerators, especially if brought in by Stormraven. Also lots of good warp charge if you go the librarian route. Purgation squad... Meh. Psycannons are just weak on power armor because of the salvo rules. The Purifiers can take flamers; they tend to be a better option over all.

And Dreadknights are the best unit in the codex.

*for psychic buffs, a Librarius Conclave would give you three to dump into three squads if you wanted.

I think it terms of sheer versatility you might be better off with SMs over GKs. Xabre is spot on with dreadknights though, I regularly go up against two or three of the bastards, but I don't really feel much for the rest of the codex. (Possibly because my winning strategy revolves around killing the damned dreadknights: fun fact, they're NOT fearless)

The obvious fluffy CTs for SMs would be Iron Hands, which I'm surprised nobody has mentioned.

I play Raven Guard personally, which I find are severely underrated and whilst the 7th ed codex change their style of play significantly from 6th, the new Kauyon supplement has added a whole bunch of options / toys.

I genuinely think I've won every game with the Bladewing Assault brotherhood. I don't play in tournaments or anything, but it's definitely a very underrated set up when used to run interference for a shooty army.

Iron hands do get access to Chapter Master Smashfucker though, which is possibly reason enough to go there. It's generally the fluff that keeps me invested when I'm getting my arse handed to me, so I'd go with fluff preference in the first instance.
