Kotor 2 was hamstrung by bugs, glitches, save game corruption and was essentially completely unfinished, and should never have made it to the shelves in the condition it was in. That said, it offered a lot more moral ambiguity than the original, which is praiseworthy.
However in their favour, Bioware definitely learned from that mistake. Hauling it up, what, 12 years later as an example of why we might get a bad 40k game from bioware is a completely specious argument, akin to saying "you shouldn't keep rats because they carry the plague".
