Default How long do games usually last?

Hey all,

Being rather a gaming newbie (I've spent my hours rocking in a chair in a dark corner converting my models for over a year, laughting manically) So I had two questions:

What's the average point-amount game played?

How long would a 500-point, 1000 point & 1500 point game last, respectively?

All depends... you can have a 1500 pt game over in half an hour (excluding time taken to set up) but the above post seems to be about right.

it depends what armies are playing playing. space marines vrs armored company = really short game. orks vrs nids = sevral hours for the movenent alone

Never doubt the incompetence of your commisar.

I tdepends on the armies that are playing and also on the experience of the players. A couple of beginning players may need to consult rule books, codex's and other things when questions come up. Experienced players may not take that long. 1500 points is usually around 2 hours with my friends but we do spend a fair amount time goofing around and laughing. So it depends on many things.

"Ahh, isn't Morfang sweet, like a great big 350-pound (that's 25 stone, UK users!) ball of cuddly death...?"

God, gives children to people so that death won't seem so disappointing.

My friend and I have finished a 3000 pt game in just over 2 hours. We both know what we are doing and how to make the game move along. We have also had a 1000 pt game last almost 3 hours because we were goofing off a lot and the game was kind of a second thought to both players. So it all depends on experience and how much attdntion you are putting into the game.

i once finished a game in one turn in the shooting phase with orks!!!!!!
mostly sixes but other wise orks take ages to play with as you can imagin moving 60 orks in 2 squads still being in cohenercny

500pts - 30mins
1000pts - 1hr
1500pts - 1hr 30mins

these are the times me and a lod friend can do. We've been playing for a long time now so theres little if any rule checking or stat checking.

EDIT: the average points in a game in my group is 1500 but at my local its 1000

Violence is never the answer, it is the question, to which the answer is, yes

Average point value in my area is 1500 points. Average length is 2 1/2- 3 hours. Look at it this way. GW GT's make you play 1500-1850 points in 2 matter the army choice. As long as both players get to playing and avoid chit-chatting, it can be done.

so many people have said this but its defenitly army, concentration and most importantly experiance,

me and my mates seem to be able to do 0-500pts in 30mins, and anything from 1000pts-3500pts in about 3 hrs.

apart from one game that took us 5hrs, earlier apoc battle, still asking questions
