I'd be tempted to go with:

HQ- stock librarian with pyromancy primaris

1 x 10 man tactical squad, MM, meltagun, combi melta

1 x 5 man tactical squad, flamer, combi flamer

1 x 5 man assault squad, 2 flamers, power weapon.

libby rides with assault marines, flamer templates everywhere
aww ok all on foot I presume?

only tnhing im worried I would be worried about is a couple the guys run flyers at tis points lvl, but intresting list and I like it

This would be with everything in pods.

At 500 points I personally wouldn't build anything for anti air and just try and ignore the flyers. Heldrakes will be an issue, but they always are

The pyromancy powers are quite crappy, but it's another flamer template. You can try rolling for it as there's a couple which aren't half bad in the right situations.

It's probably not the best list, but it'll be fun and fluffy!

Blood angels or salamanders, either one would be a great choice.

A Blood Angel DP list I just came up with, it's pretty damn slim for bodies compared to some C:SM lists. 500 point games and the BA dex are a tough cookie to crack, but this seems like it could be fun to play. Libby goes with the flamer squad, everything is in DPs. I suggest putting all the objectives on your opponent's side of the table, cuz if you make it to T5 you'll need them close by if it still matters.

Libby

Fragioso

5 man RAS w/ Flamer, 2x Hand Flamer

5 man RAS w/ Melta Gun, 2x Infernus Pistol

....at least you'll have less models to make.

Unfortunately Canada got rid of the penny and now my two cents rounds down to zero, so...take it for what you will.

cool cheers guys both lists look very fun to use and will give both a shot, a dreadnought at 500pts seems like it could really run riot but also sticking lots flamers in a sally army also sounds good.

sooo I saw one campaign game other day it was a marine player vs a deamon khorne player, the marine player runs a assault with a libby in razor back , a storm talon and some scouts from what I saw, the deamon player is a different prospect altogether he runs a squad of blood letters and a bloodthirster.

well I spoke to the deamon player and said that a bloodthirster uses a lot of points at this level, but as he runs 2 bloodthirsters at 2000pts he has to have one at this level, as in this campaign you have to be able to incorporate your 500pts army into your 1500pts.

so any ideas best way to deal with this threat at this level, im thinking massed bolter fire maybe?

I face a flying Daemon Prince all the damn time (which means I know nothing about Bloodthirsters unless they are Khorne DPs: see sig), shooting is basically all you can do. At this points level there's no really challenging CC option for SM, but if you do end up getting charged because the shooting has failed you drag that fight out with as challenges as you have characters so the rest of your army can do what they need to do. ATSKNF will stop you from being swept, so hopefully he gets screwed by the dice. The only time I won't try to prolong things with a challenge is if I have my entire army right there and the assault was initiated in my opponent's turn. Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a squad quicker so that you can shoot at the target some more.

Alternately you can completely ignore it since you're DPing in and just try to gut his troops as best you can before it starts mangling your squads.

Unfortunately Canada got rid of the penny and now my two cents rounds down to zero, so...take it for what you will.
