Default Using the 'death from the skies'

So I was on the gw wed site today and the death from the skies expansion took my eye
And I was wondering if it's usable now, as most if not all armies have their flyers
And what it holds for blood angels and maybe even tau, notably the storm talon though...

I strongly suggest you NOT to buy the thing. It's basically a craptastic small manual with the dogfights rules from crusade of fire stiched in it, and flyer rules (and lots of GW website pictures...goddam, at least they could pretend to be trying and take a pic from another angle!). Unless you play Ork (this is the only manual where to find their dakkajet rules) you are not going to have much use from it. You could just buy the CoF campaign for some good campaign material and dogfight rules. Better spent money.

Ok thanks, that's what I thought really, as it sounds like a filler from between the 6th rule book and the codex's
Shame though I thought maybe it had BA storm talons in it don't want to have to take a tac squad for smerf allies to get one
So it's a toss up between a Valkyrie/vendetta with vets or a storm raven...

That's why they made the Storm Wing formation. Your Blood Angels can purchase the Formation, not worry about needing to ally in a tac squad. Only downside is you have to play the Raven as a gunship, not a transport.

As a BA player: IF I ever get a Stormtalon it will be painted up yellow and used as an allied flier. It will still accompany my Stormraven onto the board because IF and BA are Battle Brothers, and I won't have to sacrifice my favourite way to deliver Furiosos to the front line.

Using the SR without transport capacity makes it just not worth the points to me, though I can see why some would want to run that formation.

Unfortunately Canada got rid of the penny and now my two cents rounds down to zero, so...take it for what you will.

Ah'm doing it when my box set arrives. Imperial Fist talons for me too, eventually I'll have a worn and bloodied IF/BT crew of survivors from a failed expedition to back up either my GK or my Guard... but in the mean time their aircraft will lend some support.
