Default Decimator vs Chaos Contemptor?

Hi folks.

So I currently have a Thousand Sons army, which is gunline based. Most of my army is heavy firepower, be it Obliterators, some Noise Marines with sonic weapons (yeah, I know, in a Thousand Sons army), Rubrics with their AP3 bolters, etc etc.

I love walkers, and want to put in something large and beefy, so I've been looking at both the Chaos Contemptor, and the Decimator Daemon Engine. The Decimator can take two gun arms, giving it a 'Mortis' variant, however it's at BS3 and really feels like it was built to be in melee more, with a higher strength and those fun siege claws. The Contemptor, meanwhile, has a stronger BS but can't stack as much firepower. Both, however, can take at least one Butcher Cannon, and (what I'll probably outfit one with), a Heavy Conversion Beamer.

Any thoughts?

Both being fun, expensive Forge World models, I'd say go for whichever looks the best to you and looks like the most fun to play. Personally I'd go for the Decimator due to its immense size.

If someone lacks intelligence, than he is not stupid, because one cannot be stupid without intelligence.

If someone reverts to having to complain about your grammar, then you already won.

The problem with the double butcher decimator is that the forgefiend can put out the same, or more, firepower for cheaper. So go with what you like better, my recommendation would be a contemptor, however.

Yeah, the Decimator was a lot more fun before the Forgefiend came out and the Hades was the same as a Butcher Cannon. I'm kinda leaning towards a Contemptor hiding in the back with a heavy conversion beamer....
